How do I sign up to work with a Bottom Line counselor?
You can fill out an interest form. We will contact you once we receive this form to let you know if you are eligible to work with Bottom Line.

How do I know if I'm eligible?
First and foremost, we seek to serve students who come from a household with an income of less than $40,000 or students who are the first generation in their immediate family to attend college. Additionally, students must live in Boston and have a Grade Point Average of 2.5 or higher.

What do I do if I'm not eligible to work with Bottom Line?
If you do not meet our criteria, we will be unable to offer our services to you. You can contact other access programs in Boston, such as TERI College Access Center which has centers in Boston, Brockton, and Chelsea. Also, check out the Lets Get Ready program, which has programs in the South End and in Dorchester.

Does Bottom Line do SAT prep?
Currently, we do not provide SAT prep courses. However, we can connect you to resources in Boston that do provide this service.

Do I have to pay to work with Bottom Line?

Once you begin meeting with a counselor at Bottom Line, you will be able to setup meetings as often as you like. There is no requirement of how many times you have to come in per week, but we ask that you stay actively engaged and keep in contact with your counselor. The average amount of meetings students have is about 2-3 times per month, but this will vary from student to student.

Where is Bottom Line located?
Our Boston office is located in Jamaica Plain right next to English High School. Directions
Our Worcester office is located at 600 Main Street on the first floor of the 24 story apartment building. Across from the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

If I work with Bottom Line, do I still need to work with my high school guidance counselor?
Bottom Line does not replace your guidance counselor at school, we act as supplement their services. While you work with us, you will still need to keep in close contact with your guidance counselor to get their advice, counselor recommendation, transcripts, and to update them on which schools you are applying to.

Who will be my counselor at Bottom Line?
We have a diverse and talented group of counselors and one of them will be assigned to work with you throughout the college application process. Meet Some of Our Counselors

Does Bottom Line do college tours?
There are several tours that Bottom Line organizes throughout the year. We take a trip out to UMass Amherst and Smith College in the fall and do some smaller trips to schools in the spring. We do not do any organized trips to colleges outside of Massachusetts. However, many times we work with admissions offices to organize individual and small group visits to schools.
