Mariam Osman is Chief Operating Officer of Global Investment Operations and Co- Head of Cash Service Group for BlackRock. In her COO role she works on ensuring commitments to servicing clients, improving operating performance and overseeing the delivery of scale, efficiency and control framework. During her time at BlackRock, Mariam has also led the Services group, responsible for working with all investment teams and client business teams to ensure alignment and strategic direction of the global investment operation platform. Prior to joining BlackRock, Mariam worked at UBS as the Global Head of Client Technology in Prime Brokerage. She also worked at Goldman Sachs in several departments including – Equity Capital Markets, Equities Trading, International Trading and Equity Finance.
Ms. Osman immigrated to Queens, NY from Afghanistan in 1976, and has dedicated significant efforts in support of immigrant communities, including helping to build schools for Afghan children with the Ayenda Foundation, and serving on the Board of Honor the Promise, a nonprofit that assists newly-arrived members of the Afghan Special Operations community and their families as they resettle in the U.S. so they can live their American Dream. In addition, she also taught English at Kabul University in 2006.
Ms. Osman earned a BS in Computer Science from Saint John’s University and a MS in Information Systems from New York University.
